3 Reasons I’m Going to See The Dark Knight Rises at Midnight

You know you’re a Batman fan when your mom buys you a Batman knife.

Tonight marks the opening of The Dark Knight Rises, the final movie in Chris Nolan’s Batman trilogy.  A group of us are going at 6:30 pm to our local theater to watch all 3 movies tonight with The Dark Knight Rises starting a midnight.  I know that seems a bit crazy to many of you, but here are the 3 reasons I’m going to see The Dark Knight Rises at midnight.

1.  I’ve been a Batman fan all my life.

Ever since I was a kid I have read Batman comics, watched Batman cartoons, wore Batman costumes, and dreamed Batman dreams.  I’m not sure why I gravitated to Batman so much.  He’s always been my favorite over Superman and the rest.  I have seen every Batman movie on opening night…even Batman and Robin.  Chris Nolan has helped us fan boys forget that gigantic failure by breathing new life into the character.  He’s been pretty faithful to the comics and brought some of the best Batman source material to life.

2.  Midnight movies are memorable events.

Whether it’s Timmy wearing his full body black Spider-Man suit to the midnight showing of Spider-Man 3 or grown men dressed as Jedi’s there is always a lot of fun things that happen at midnight movie premieres.  Watching Timmy get asked to be in pictures with so many different(including some girls we did not know) was something I will never forget.  What will happen tonight?  I don’t know, but mom always sad strange things happen after midnight.

3.  I want to see how Chris Nolan ends the Batman trilogy.

The undisputed  word about this movie is that it has a clear ending.  Chris Nolan will bring to a close this series of Batman movies.  Dave Letterman said that Batman dies in the end!  I’m sure that more Batman movies will be made in the future, but other than drawing on Batman’s origin they will have 0 connection to Chris Nolan’s Batman movies.  Will Bane break Batman like in the comics?  As a fan of the comics, I will be looking for those moments that mirror the books.  Don’t worry.  I won’t be tweeting any spoilers.
What about you?  Are you going to see The Dark Knight Rises at midnight?  What are some of the crazy things you’ve seen on the opening night of movies?
