Are you a consumer or a creator?

It’s time to put your inner creator to work.

When was the last time you created something?  Maybe it was a term paper, a speech, a t-shirt design, or something else that was created by your mind and hands.  I think that God, the original and ultimate creator, put it in our DNA to be creators as well.  It’s why a child has this strange urge to [Read more…] about Are you a consumer or a creator?

God’s Ways are Not Our Ways

Moving truck 2007
Moving truck 2007

“It’s hard to trust God when everything you own is in a moving truck.”

Today is a historic day for me.  5 years ago, our family was all packed up and ready to drive the 638 miles to our new church in Aston, PA.  I felt unqualified for ministry, unstable emotionally, and unprepared for the task ahead.  I found myself going through the motions during that [Read more…] about God’s Ways are Not Our Ways

2012 Summer Reading List

Last November I set a goal to read 52 books in a year.  That’s quite a reading list.  For those of you scoring at home, that’s one book per week.  I’ve got a long way to go to finish, but am pleased that I’ve read all or parts of around 35 books so far.  I heard Steven Furtick say one time not to worry about finishing a book, but be more concerned getting something out of it.  You may read 10 pages of a book and get the nudge, thought, or idea God intended.  BTW, I read his book, Sun Stand Still last year.  His new book,Greater: Dream Bigger. Start Smaller. Ignite God’s Vision for Your Life., is available for pre-order now and it’s in my queue.  Here’s what else [Read more…] about 2012 Summer Reading List
